PJO: THE TITAN'S CURSE - RICK RIORDAN

Summary:

Titans, death, trying to lift the sky, gods, hunters, new half-bloods and more death. Yeah, a lot of things went down in this book.

Percy, Annabeth, Thalia and Grover go find two new half-bloods in Westover Hall in hopes of rescuing them. But of course before that happened, loads of crazy things went down. One word: Manticores. Yes, they did survive but Annabeth was captured. Now Percy and his new found 'friends' the hunters of Artemis embarked on a quest to go and rescue Annabeth and the goddess herself, Artemis from the clutches of the titans.

Review:

And yet again, this isn't my fave book in the series, I had a lot of trouble reading this but nevertheless, it was yet another masterpiece by Riordan. I didn't get to appreciate this book until now because I can feel the pain from all the characters. I can see their struggles especially now that something can most definitely destroy Olympus and the titans are most definitely up for that.

Percy finds new friends on the way and the way and that makes me so happy because that proves that there's that hope in each and everyone of them. Yes there were tons deaths and betrayals in this book but those were trials that made Percy much more stronger now that he know more about this great prophecy on the fate of Olympus. And oh, they found this cute little marine cow like creature that could possibly destroy Olympus, Percy named her Bessie.

Prophecy explanation time! (here come the not so mild spoilers)

"Five shall go West to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combine prevail,
The Titan's curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent's hand."

Percy, Grover, Zoe, Thalia and Bianca embark on a quest to go to Mount Othrys to free Artemis from the titans. Bianca sacrificed herself in the desert to save the group from a defective prototype made by Hephaestus called Talos. They followed the Ophiotaurus, who keeps appearing in bodies of water (yes, this is Bessie) who can destroy Olympus, if sacrificed in flames. The only way that this quest would have been made possible was is the campers and the hunters teamed up. Thus Percy, Thalia and Grover for Team Campers and Zoe and Bianca for Team Hunters. The Titan's curse refers to the holding of the sky above the Earth. Luke took it from Atlas; Luke tricked Annabeth into carrying it; Artemis took it from Annabeth; Percy took it from Artemis and finally, Artemis forced it back to Atlas. In the end, Zoe, after being poisoned and suffering from a bite of the dragon, Ladon was killed by her father Atlas, after he tossed her against a wall.

Yes this wasn't my fave, but I felt so many emotions reading this (I cried more than once). I'd rate this book a 3.8/5 because I was seriously hoping for more but Rick left us with a serious cliffhanger for the next book which I will be reviewing this weekend. ilysm x
