Sherlock S01 E01 - A Study in Pink

As I started watching the episode, I instantly fell in love with the cast. This is the first episode of the first season and it's action-packed, filled with life, and bombarding with mysteries that'll make your eyes pop when solved by the amazing duo.

In this episode people - 3 to be exact - are suddenly found dead because of one and the same thing; a self administered pill. Because of that, the police filed these deaths under suicide but dear Sherlock Holmes wouldn't have any of that. n the first few minutes of the episode, he is introduced to army doctor John Watson and they instantly became flatmates, which I find really cute and creepy at the same time. John points out that they just meet and that Sherlock doesn't even know anything about him. Sherlock, in return, manages to reveal John's history in life just by looking at the phone he borrowed from him.

As they are in the flat, the fourth suicide breaks out and John and Sherlock move in on the case. The recent death was a woman named Jennifer Wilson. And there, they were able to prove that they were indeed murders, and not serial killings. They might not have a lot in common but their constant craving for danger and adventure keeps them together most of the time. After that though, John gets sort of 'kidnapped' by this random bloke who I don't feel good about at all. He then later gets released from his captor because all he wanted to do was talk. John went back to their and discovered that he had found the missing suitcase of Miss Wilson. Sherlock then bolts out the door determined to catch the murderer. This the led to a street chase with John to follow a cab across the busy streets of London. What I really like about this, is that John left is cane at the restaurant they were eating at and ran out as if he had no limp at all. Oh, these two and they're hunger for danger.

As they went back to their apartment, a group of people from the police department were searching around because they accused Sherlock of withholding evidence. Suddenly,a mysterious cabbie arrives and in those exact moments, Sherlock knew that it was the cab driver who was committing the murders. He silently went with the cabbie, and possibly to his death. Luckily Sherlock already started the GPS tracking device on Miss Wilson's phone which was on the cab driver, so John followed his trail not knowing what would really happen.

Sherlock gets dragged into a secluded school by the cab driver and he then discovers how he's been killing these people and why. The man has been using two pills that you have to choose from; one that would do nothing, and one that will kill you. He doesn't care if he dies in the process because the ma's already dying. He does this because each kill he commits will provide money to his children. He says that he has a sponsor who's very much interested in Sherlock, his death most likely. Sherlock chose the gun over the pills, knowing the gun was fake so that he can walk out of there. As he was though, the man said that if he was really the Sherlock Holmes, he'd know which was the right pill. But before that, John Watson shoots the man from the opposite building, right through the chest. Before the cabbie died though, Sherlock managed to get the name of the cabbie's sponsor; Moriarty.

After that, it takes Sherlock a little while to finally piece together that it was John who shot the man. They have a nice conversation that ended up with John calling Sherlock an idiot and Sherlock smiling at him in return. Then out of nowhere, the man who talked to John shows up and then later introduces himself as Sherlock's brother. Mycroft, his name is, says he's concerned for his little brother and says to update the surveillance status on the both of them.

This was a lovely first episode that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! 4.85/5 if I would give it a rating. Season , episode 2 review will be up on Wednesday! ilysm x
